OUr Team
Eddie Zacapa
Eddie Zacapa, the executive director of Life Enriching Communication (LEC), is a certified trainer with the Center for Nonviolent Communication (CNVC) and has worked 20 years in the domestic violence field. Eddie developed a year-long court-approved NVC-based batterers' program with an amazing 0% recidivism after 10 years (no one returned to using violence at home). He has facilitated parenting, anger management and batterer intervention programs and various workshops for individuals, couples and families. Eddie is the author of the book Essentials for Cultivating Passionate Volunteers: Guidelines for Organizations that Value Connection and Principles and Practices of Nonviolence: 30 Meditations for Practicing Compassion. He enjoys playing table tennis, hiking, soccer, basketball and watching movies in his free time. |
James Eslick
James Eslick, president of the board of directors, is a state approved Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Counselor and a day rehab specialist with a degree in art. He worked with emotionally disturbed, at-risk teens at a local non-profit. A founding board member of LEC, James facilitated the 52 week batterer intervention program and our child abuse treatment program, and provided prevention education to youth for LEC. |
John Dennis
John Dennis, an LEC board member, has worked for many years as a substance abuse counselor with Progress House and also served on Progress House's board for many years as a treasurer. He brings a wealth of experience when it comes to dealing with substance abuse and from his many years serving on boards. He is also familiar with nonviolent communication (NVC) and practices NVC in his daily life.

Joel Douglas, an LEC board member, is the owner of Tuckclay Cement Company and a local business owner. He is currently working on becoming a domestic violence counselor and has observed both the batterer intervention program and the child abuse treatment programs and hopes to volunteer or facilitate groups in the future. He is also familiar with nonviolent communication (NVC) and practices NVC in his daily life with his family.
