Eddie Zacapa
Eddie Zacapa, the executive director of Life Enriching Communication (LEC), is a certified trainer with the Center for Nonviolent Communication (CNVC) and has worked 16 years in the domestic violence field. Eddie developed a year-long court-approved NVC-based batterers' program with an amazing 0% recidivism after 7 years (no one returned to using violence at home). He has facilitated parenting, anger management programs and various workshops for individuals, couples and families. Eddie is the author of the book Essentials for Cultivating Passionate Volunteers: Guidelines for Organizations that Value Connection. He enjoys playing table tennis, running, soccer and basketball and watching movies in his free time. |
James Eslick
James Eslick, vice president of the board of directors, is a state approved Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Counselor and a day rehab specialist with a degree in art. He worked with emotionally disturbed, a-risk teens at a local non-profit. A founding board member of LEC, James facilitates the 52 week batterer intervention program, our Empowered Parenting program, and provides prevention education to youth for LEC. |
Bonnie Chandler
Bonnie Chandler, a LEC board member, is a state approved Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Counselor. She helps LEC with group facilitation, events and administration. Prior to joining LEC, she volunteered at The Center for Violence-Free Relationships, where she co-faciliated groups, answered phones, and provided counseling. |
Todd Grosby
Todd Grosby has an extensive background in sales, marketing, and strategic partnerships in traditional media, online advertising, and Real Estate. He consults for LEC. He has served as a board member for Cedar Springs Waldorf School, and the Placerville Natural Foods COOP. He is the father of three daughters and has volunteered as a middle school and Junior High School coach for basketball and cross country. He attended the American Institute for Foreign Study. |
Gaby Zacapa
Gaby Zacapa, a LEC board member, is a state approved Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Counselor. She worked with WEAVE in Sacramento and now works with emotionally disturbed, at risk teens and their families and is a family counselor with Turning Point. She is an ultra runner and has competed in a 100 mile race. She co-facilitates the Spanish batterer intervention group for LEC when needed. |
Martha Borders
Martha Borders, an active volunteer and former board member, has an extensive understanding of domestic violence, sexual assault, trauma and loss. She worked with the Center for Violence-Free Relationships for a total of fourteen years. She is a state approved Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Counselor. She developed the State Certified Volunteer Training program and trained up to forty individuals who followed the directives of the program and became outstanding advocates for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Martha currently works for Uplift Family Services in Sacramento. She is the Resource Family Certifier whose duties include interviewing prospective families who wish to foster and adopt children who are displaced from their homes most often as a result of neglect, domestic violence, and drug/alcohol abuse. |
